Privacy Rights
This page describes a unified US state privacy-rights workflow for requests FamilyCase can fulfill in its role (and how firm-controlled matter data is handled).
1. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or an appeal of a denial. FamilyCase does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising on this marketing site.
2. How to submit a request
Email privacy@familycase.ai with your name, contact email, relationship to FamilyCase (visitor, firm user, or client of a firm), and the request type. We may need to verify identity and authority.
3. Authorized agents
Authorized agents must provide proof of authority. We may contact the individual to confirm.
4. Firm-controlled matter data
If you are a client of a law firm using FamilyCase, the firm is typically the controller. We may refer your request to the firm and assist them under the DPA.
5. Deletion exceptions & legal holds
Deletion may be limited by legal holds, litigation, professional-responsibility retention, billing records, or security logs. Exceptions will be explained when they apply.
6. Response timing & appeals
We aim to respond to verifiable requests within the timelines required by applicable law (for example, within 45 days under the CCPA/CPRA, extendable as permitted, and within one month under the GDPR where it applies). If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to the decision email.
